State of Alabama v. Thomas Whitehurst – Not Guilty Verdict for the charge of Murder on March 28, 2023, in Elmore County, Alabama.
– NOT GUILTY. An Elmore County jury finds Thomas Whitehurst NOT GUILTY of MURDER. Ms. Kimberly Star Mulder, the ex-wife of Thomas Whitehurst, went missing on June 11th, 2016. After years of searching, her body was finally discovered in the Conecuh National Forest in March of 2020. Mr. Whitehurst was subsequently arrested and charged with her murder in 2021.
Mr. Whitehurst entered a plea of not guilty and requested a jury trial. His trial began on March 28th, 2023. After the evidence presented from the State of Alabama and the defense, the jury found that Mr. Whitehurst was not guilty of murder. After nearly 8 years, Mr. Whitehurst goes home a free man.
